I was born and raised in Chengdu, a city located in Southwestern China and famous for its spicy food. In 2017, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature at Beijing Normal University. In the same year, I joined the M.A. program in Asian Studies at Cornell University, and received my master’s degree in 2019. Now I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the department of East Asian Languages and Cultural Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara. My current research focuses on the commercialization of religion, but I am also interested in gender studies and popular culture. In my spare time, I often play games or watch live streamers playing games. I hate sports.
